Flowchart of the IdrAgra simulation model: modules are represented as colored boxes, inputs in white background ellipses, outputs in light blue background ellipses

IdrAgra is a distributed-parameter conceptual model, which allows the simulation of the irrigation water distribution in agricultural areas and the estimation of the hydrological balance on a daily basis.
IdrAgra includes four modules devoted to specific tasks:

  • crop phenology,
  • soil-crop water balance,
  • irrigation,
  • crop yield.

IdrAgra operates in two modes:

  • NEED mode, for the estimation of the crop water needs of an irrigated area,
  • USE mode, for the simulation of irrigation the water use and crop production of an irrigated area.
